int  scanf ( const char * format [ , argument , ...] );

مثال :

int n;
scanf ("%d",&n);

در عبارت گرفت اسكن اف آدرس محلي از حافظه اشاره مي شود كه قرار است مقدار n در آنجا ذخيره شود .
